Teams & Members
Vessl organizes everything — servers, projects, and apps — under a team. When you sign up, a personal team is created automatically. On the Pro plan you can invite additional members and assign them roles.
Roles
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full access: invite/remove members, manage billing, delete the team, deploy, manage servers |
| Admin | Deploy, manage apps/projects/servers, manage members — but cannot change billing or delete the team |
| Member | Deploy and manage apps within projects they have access to; cannot manage servers or billing |
Only Owners can invite members, change roles, or remove members.
Inviting a member
- Go to Team Settings → Members.
- Click Invite Member.
- Enter the person's email address and select a role (Member, Admin, or Owner).
- Click Send Invitation.
The invitee receives an email with an invitation link. The link expires after 7 days — if it expires, cancel it and send a new one.
While the invitation is pending, the person appears in the member list as Pending. You can cancel a pending invitation at any time before it's accepted.
Team member invitations are a Pro plan feature. On Hobby and Starter plans, your team has one member (you). Upgrade to Pro to collaborate.
Changing a member's role
- Go to Team Settings → Members.
- Find the member and click the role dropdown next to their name.
- Select the new role — the change takes effect immediately.
Only Owners can change roles. You cannot downgrade yourself if you are the only Owner.
Removing a member
- Go to Team Settings → Members.
- Find the member and click Remove.
- Confirm the removal.
The removed member loses access to all team resources immediately. Their previously deployed apps keep running — removing a member does not stop or delete anything.
Switching teams
If you belong to multiple teams (e.g. a personal team and a client's team), use the team switcher in the top navigation to switch context. All resources — servers, projects, apps — are scoped to the active team.
